By definition, an ultramarathon is any running event longer than the marathon length of 42.195 km (26 miles, 385 yards). That being said, to be considered as an ultramarathon, an event has got to challenge you with 30 or more miles of cross-country terrain.
What does it take to complete an ultramarathon? A little bit of craziness, a sense of adventure, a desire to explore the limits of the mind and body, and the courage to start.
